Book Signing For Former Ainsworth Graduate

A Book Signing introducing DeLila Smith Lumbardy’s new book titled “Bound by Secrecy” will be held at the Ainsworth Public Library on January 21st from 2-4 p.m. This novel is set in the Sandhills and is a Christian Fiction/Mystery.

Laurel won’t rest until she understands why Beau turned his back on her so many years ago. How she ever considered him her best friend is beyond her!
There will be no chance of avoiding the arrogant, egotistical snob now that she has returned to help her father – recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease – on the family ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska. Beau lives just across the Sumalac River, and for whatever reason, her dad likes the guy. He’s bound to be around anytime Tom needs more manpower than he thinks Laurel is capable of giving. Maggie Traynor, a family friend, suggests to Laurel that forgiving Beau may be good practice for an even bigger challenge of forgiveness in the future. Laurel can’t imagine who could hurt her worse than Beau already has. Little does she know that Maggie is exactly right. Every fiber of Laurel’s being is shattered when she unearths the dark secret her dead mother kept from her – a secret that once exposed, changes Laurel’s and Beau’s relationship forever.

DeLila Lumbardy grew up on a ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska – the largest sand dune in the world. She had two favorite past times as a child. One was riding bareback through the hills on her horse Ginger. The other was sitting on the bank of the Calamus River that meandered through the ranch – a cane pole in one hand and a Big Chief writing tablet in the other. While waiting for those carp to bite, DeLila penned many great masterpieces like “The Leaves of Autumn” and “Chores of a Ranch Girl.”

DeLila attend the Raven Grade School and graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1972. DeLila devoted 40 years of her life to nursing, but between changing bandages, taking vital signs, and starting IV’s, she never lost her passion for writing. During those forty years, she collected a binder full of published articles – both fiction and non-fiction.

DeLila and her husband both enjoy the outdoors and are nature enthusiasts. They love to watch all wildlife, but birds are a favorite. The couple currently make their home in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.
