SUMMER READING PROGRAM STILL A GO

While we don’t really know when the doors will open up again to the public, the Ainsworth Library will be holding a summer reading program for all ages this summer.  With the help of the Nebraska Library Commission and the Central Plains Library System, our library will be able to offer ReaderZone, an online reading program.  We plan to have some at home activities, crafts, and fun prizes to earn according to this year’s theme “Imagine Your Story”.  There is a cool app to keep track of all your reading that can be downloaded to a phone, tablet, or on  your home computer.  Please sign up on the app by May 23rd.  Reading will begin on June 1st.  We added more groups to our program this year.  Even the middle school and high school readers, as well as adults can participate this summer!

The reading groups are as follows:

APL Little Lords & Ladies (age 3-5/Pre-K)

APL Knights & Princesses (K-1st grade)

APL Royal Readers (2nd-4th grade)

APL Readers of the Round Table (5th-8th grade)

APL Book Dragons (High School-Adult)

Search for “Reader Zone” at your app store.  Make an account and add all the reader(s) you want in your family.  You will join our reading program with the code: 4a00f.  The Library staff is very excited to offer this goal based internet reading program.  This is an important tool to help students build reading skills. This means:

  • No more paper reading calendars!
  • Use a smart phone app to log reading.
  • See your reading progress in real time.

If you have any questions, call the Ainsworth Public Library at 402-387-2032 or email us at aplibrary@threeriver.net.  Let’s make it a great summer of fun reading!
