Farewell Maurice Sendak

Beloved children’s author and illustrator Maurice Sendak died today at the age of 83. He gave us such classics as Where the Wild Things Are and  In the Night Kitchen, and illustrated a number of other works including the Little Bear series. His contributions to children’s literature were far reaching, and he won numerous awards despite his books being challenged and banned for their dark subject matter.
