Roxi Reviews

Roxi Wilkinson has graciously agreed to share some of her recent reads with us. The following review is part of an ongoing series of guest posts written by Roxi:

This is the perfect book for anyone missing a deceased loved one during the holiday season. It is also just a darned good read.

Remembering Blue by Connie May Fowler is a thrilling story of Nick and Mattie’s life on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Mattie, an orphan working at a convenience store, discovers the healing power of love when Proteus Nicholas Blue stops in to purchase gasoline for his pickup. Mattie tells the story of her life, Nick’s family history and his own personal fears. The allure of village life and the courageous people who inhabit it will take you to a place far from our land locked prairie. Remembering Blue is an exploration of grief and transcendence. I particularly marveled at Fowler’s gift for portraying how the joy, humor and incredible love between two people can make them so much more than they were alone. Fowler is passionate and elegant in her storytelling creating an unforgettable masterpiece.
