Roxi Reviews

Roxi Wilkinson has graciously agreed to share some of her recent reads with us. The following review is part of an ongoing series of guest posts written by Roxi:

Lake People by Abi Maxwell has my vote for the ‘Debute Novel of The Year’.  Time sped by all too quickly while reading this intricately suspenseful  novel.   This yarn takes place in a small New Hampshire town where a new born was discovered abandoned in a boat house by the lake.  Alice Thornton was adopted by a young couple and raised with no knowledge of the women who went before her.  The interweaving of family history and individual fate produce a haunting classic telling how we are drawn to the place of our birth.  Lake People is a wonderfully strange and inventive novel.  A rare book you will treasure!
