Ebsco (formerly known as Netlibrary) Tutorials: Ebsco ebooks appear in our catalog and are classified with an “e” symbol that appears next to the title in search results. This collection is mainly comprised of nonfiction books useful for research or specialized study and is available to residential patrons.
How to access Ebsco ebooks:
- Click here to login in to Ebsco using your patron ID number (the number found on the back of your library card. Don’t have your card? Give us a call, verify some info and we’ll give it you over the phone.)
- Click on “Sign in” and then on “Create a New Account”. You will now be able to assign your own username and password for future use.
- Your ready to use the Ebsco ebooks! You can search directly through Ebsco or from our catalog. In our catalog, click on the title of the book and follow the link to sign in and start reading.
Ebsco Ebooks Support Center – Provides information for browsing and transfering Ebsco ebooks to mobile devices.
Overdrive Tutorials: This digital collection is available to residential patrons of the Alliance Public library and is comprised of popular fiction and nonfiction titles.
Device Resource Center - Lists devices that are compatible with our Overdrive ebook and audiobook service.
Overdrive Quick Start Guide – Provides instructions on using the Overdrive collection.
Overdrive Guided Media Tour – A video tutorial for those new to downloading books on Overdrive.
Installing Adobe Digital Editions - Step by Step instructions for installing the Adobe software used for ebooks. Includes screenshots. (Thanks Plattsmouth Public Library!)
‘User Not Activated’ or ‘Loan token not found’ error when trying to read an eBook on a NOOK - Step-by-step instructions on how to correct this error which is caused by an automatic Barnes and Noble Nook update.
