In 2004, Charlotte M. Endorf made the decision to document the real-life stories of the children who rode the Orphan Trains between the years 1854 to 1929. A Nebraska author, she created After the Rain, Oh the Beautiful Rainbow, Plains Bound: Fragile Cargo, By Train They Came series, Unsung Neighbors, They Call Me Teddy and Trains of Promise. Sponsored by the Madison County Museum, she condensed ten hours of videos into a professional manner producing the DVD Ordinary Orphan Train Riders Who Became Extraordinary Friends. She traveled to NYC opening records dating back to 1917 with Lela, then compiling a poetry CD with her called Hidden Treasures. Sit back and be entertained as you learn more about this little known American history as she presents to you Fragile Excess Baggage.
