The Ashland Public Library would like to share some of our new nonfiction titles, which include computer, tablet and eReader guides, baby books, craft books, cookbooks and more.
If you recently acquired a computer we have “Teach Yourself Visually Microsoft Windows 8” as well as an earlier edition covering Windows 7. Did you get a tablet or eReader for Christmas? We have “For Dummies” guides for Nook eReaders and Kindle Fire and Touch.
We have four books, in a series called Kids’ Crafternoon, titled “Papercraft,” “Beading,” “Sewing,” and “Felting.” We just added “Craft: Techniques & Projects,” which have over 50 projects including jewelry, a printed apron, tie-dye t-shirt, homemade paper, candles, and soap.
Our new cookbooks include “Fifty Shades of Chicken,” which includes 50 chicken recipes and a parody of “Fifty Shades of Grey” from the point of view of a chicken taken from the fridge. There are a variety of roast chicken recipes as well as wings, fried and jerk chicken and chicken salad. Recipes range from those for beginners to the advanced cook.
We have also added a gluten free cookbook and a food allergy guide with recipes.
Other new nonfiction includes “Planet Dinosaur,” a companion guide to the BCC documentary; “Carl Warner’s Food Landscapes,” and “Young House Love: 243 Ways to Paint, Craft, Update, & Show Your Home Some Love.”
We also have just added titles by Ashland residents. “From Wann to Ashland” by Warren Washburn and “The Benefit Package”, which contains two stories by Merrie Hansen are both non-fiction books. Also added are two fiction titles, “Incentivize” and “Deliverables” by Tom Spears.
The books mentioned here are only a few of the new books we have added. We receive new fiction, non-fiction, children, and young adult books on a regular basis, and we welcome suggestions for new titles.
