The Ashland Public Library seeks an enthusiastic Library Assistant with a strong commitment to public service, knowledge of technology, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Duties include preparing library materials for public use, staffing the circulation desk, shelving materials, assisting patrons with technology and information needs, readers’ advisory, and other duties as assigned.
Must be willing and able to obtain Nebraska library level I certification within a three-year time frame.
Part-Time Library Assistant (25 hrs/week)
Hours of work include mornings, afternoons and some evenings, Tuesday through Saturday. Other hours during the day, evening, and weekend hours may be scheduled.
Salary $ 12.50 per hour.
High School Diploma or GED and one-year offices or customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such those listed and outlined in the job description.
A positive attitude and looks forward to working for a public library.
Library, bookstore, teaching, or retail customer service experience is preferred.
Tech skills, computer literacy, and MS Office proficiency.
