The library was pretty busy last Monday with fifty-two children coming in to make Crafts. This week they each made a pair of exercise cubes. When it’s time to exercise, they can just roll them out to see which exercise they are supposed to do, and how many! There were also activity sheets and snacks for everyone.
Movie Day was Tuesday, and there were forty-three children and adults who came to watch the movie, complete with a yummy snack of popcorn and M&M’s!
Wednesday was the final week of our “Stick Dog” Book Club. Twenty-one 4th and 5th Graders joined in discussing the last few chapters of the book. Afterward they used Popsicle sticks and toothpicks to build their own Stick Dog, and then had fun decorating them with a variety of crafty materials!
For the third week of the “Fish in a Tree” Book Club, there were fifteen 6th and 7th Graders attending. After discussing questions about the chapters read, the students created and decorated their own fish!
Thursday was a special program for the public from the Edgerton Explorit Center in Aurora. Jessica, the presenter, came to the library today to present their “Go Show”! Eighty-five children and twenty-four adults attended the informative and exciting presentation on “the laws of motion”. She showed how to work around gravity, and how to make things move! If you’d like to make your own penny rocket, like she used during the presentation, you can find the directions here: https://www.nasa.gov/pdf/295791main_Rockets_Pop_Rockets.pdf
