Lock-In Updates!

Please check our Facebook Page for pictures and updates of tonight’s lock-in.  Lock-ins are done twice a year (January and July) and are nights of great fun, adventure, learning, and creating!  Tonight’s theme is “Candyland!”  All crafts and games revolve around candy — the candy cane limbo; creating candy robots, candied picture frames, and more!    For those interested, each lock-in costs approximately $700 dollars and is sponsored by  City programming funds, private donations and The Friends of the Library.   It takes an average of 264 volunteer hours per lock in and four months of planning by staff.

It also is a great leadership opportunity for our young patrons.  Those who attend eventually become team leaders, then teen leaders, and some become library employees!   The lock-in is in it’s eighth year at the library, and we truly enjoy spending the night with your children.   Thanks for helping us all have a great time!
