Friends of the Library

The Friends supports, promotes and enhances the services and goals of the Blair Public Library. There are four points to fulfilling this mission:

  • Being an Advocate
  • Providing Special Funding
  • Promoting Programs
  • Volunteering

Members help to ensure that the Blair Public Library continues to fulfill the needs of the residents of Blair now and for the future generations. Friends of the Library believe that our public library provides important information, enriching entertainment and collective expressions of our culture. Through novels and newspapers, picture books and how-to guides, magazines, maps and movies — our library shelves are filled with facts, stories and ideas — keys to an enlightened people. Friends of the Library know this and PROMOTE IT !

Friends conduct simple fundraising events such as book sales and raffles which in turn helps fund programming such as the summer reading program, story book parties, and special interest seminars for adults.  They also bake treats, help “man” the book fair, and help run craft tables at special story times like Halloween, Valentine’s Day and the Sugar Plum Festival.

Membership forms are available at the Library.  If you would like to join the Friends, please check at the Circulation Desk or contact the library at (402) 426-3617.
