Prerequisites: Previous hands-on computer.

Learn how to save your files and how to open them back up to view or change them. Students will gain the skills to be able to add (upload) pictures to a website (Facebook, Ebay, Email, etc).

* How do you compose a letter on the computer?

Learn how to compose a basic letter, and how to add a few special effects (font style and size, uppercase/

lowercase, bold, italicize, underline and change color) to make your letter personal using Microsoft Word.

Learn the basic terminology and screen layout. Learn how to search for information, and how to maneuver through a web site.

*Introduction to eBay

Saturday, October 6, 1-3 p.m.

If you have computer experience and an interest in learning about

ebay, then this workshop with Rae Osenbaugh is for you. Rae will cover the basics of ebay so you can become comfortable

navigating the site. In this class you will learn how to sell an item on ebay.

The library is serving as one of the web video recording locations for “2012 Campaign Connection Voter Voices”.  A unique election year project of NET News (Nebraska Public Television & Radio), in partnership with the NE Library Commission.  NET News is gathering your thoughts, perspectives and questions to share with the U.S. Senate candidates (and the rest of Nebraska) on television, radio, web and social media.  Be sure to stop by to record your video!  It’s really easy to do. 🙂

The last session for the “Weekly Computer Fun Class” will be held on  Wednesday, February 29th from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the library meeting room.

The topic for this class will be “eReaders”. 

Anyone is welcome to attend this free class.   Be sure to bring your eReader along with and your laptop (if necessary for downloading with the type of eReader you have).

We will be available to answer questions about how the “Nebraska Overdrive” system works.  This system allows library patrons to checkout eBooks and audiobooks, using their eReaders.

This class is also for people who do not have eReaders yet, but are curious about how they work.  The library currently has two eReaders available for checkout, that are preloaded with books from many different genres.  We will have those available, for patrons to use.  We look forward to seeing you there!  🙂
