CCPL Awarded $5,134 of CARES Act 2020 Funding!

CCPL has been awarded $5,134 of Cares Act 2020 funding!😀👍
Our two-fold project for this funding involves:
✔️the purchase of items to help our library respond to Covid-19.
✔️the purchase of items to expand our digital network access.
Part of CCPL’s vision statement is to be “committed to achieving and maintaining excellence in providing public library services to the community.” Covid-19 came along and made us look hard at our service model, made us think differently about how we encourage library use, and made us re-examine the role we play in the community.
Our vision statement had to be looked at with different eyes. Suddenly, we had to start thinking outside-of-the-box for almost everything we deal with each and every day.
Being awarded one of the Cares Act 2020 grants has allowed us to pivot quickly to offer new ways of offering services to the public- at the core of our library’s vision. The grant also allowed us to be able to offer added layers of safety for library staff and library patrons (our number one priority).
This project helps to ensure that we are actively and creatively reaching our public, in ways as novel as the virus that forced us to close our doors for a period of time (during the earlier stages of the pandemic).
Items purchased in this project:
✔️Two HP Chromebooks.
✔️Two Wi-Fi routers (adding an additional one and upgrading our current one (to maximize our Wi-Fi signal 24/7).
✔️Two APC backup units (to ensure that key equipment maintains through a power loss).
✔️Replaced our copier/printer (new one has the added advantages of full color printing & Wi-Fi capable printing for our patrons).
✔️Purchased multiple acrylic sneeze guards for our circulation desk and two staff desks.
🌟This project is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Nebraska Library Commission.
THANK-YOU to the organizations listed above!🌟
