Lucky the Leprechaun

On Wednesday, March 26, we visited the 3rd grade room at Pope John. We brought along 4 activities for them to do in groups. There goal was to free Lucky the Leprechaun from the locked box. As they finished one activity, they were given the next one. When all 4 activities were completed, they unlocked the box to see what was inside. Was it Lucky the Leprechaun? The last picture will give you a clue as to what they found.

How to Catch a Leprechaun

On March 13, we went to the 3rd grade room at Elgin Public School. We read the story “How to Catch a Leprechaun” by Adam Wallace. Have you ever tried to catch a leprechaun? It is not as easy as you might think. This book might inspire you to build a trap and try your luck at catching a leprechaun.

After the story was read, each group had four activities to figure out. When they finished all 4, they got a key to unlock a box to see if they had caught a leprechaun. Unfortunately, the leprechaun was gone and all that was left was candy.
