Lots of Legos Equals Lots of Kids

Elgin Public Library held it’s first Lego League of the new school year on October 17, 2022.  Sixty-four (64) children were in attendance to experience lots of new Lego items.  New kits were purchased with a grant from the Bargain Box and several groups of students were kept busy trying to assemble them.  Others tried out our new Lego board while the rest enjoyed free building and making their own creations.  We were very excited to see so many students and look forward to seeing them at the next Lego League in November. We also encourage them to just stop in and check out some books or play with the many other makerspace items we have recently purchased.

Story Time

We will be having one last Story time on Wednesday, July 6th. This story time will not only feature “stories” but fun and games as well as “goodie” bags for the children who have been attending story time on a regular basis. We will also be hosting a Summer Book Fair from July 6th – July 8th. The Book Fair will also be available online until July 15th.

We love having your children visit us at the library and hope they can join us on July 6th.

Learning to use the Air Fryer

On Thursday, May 5, twenty people attended an Air Fryer Class hosted by Elgin Public Library. Brittany Spieker from the Antelope County Extension Office and Ann Fenton from the Pierce County Extension Office were the presenters. Highlights of the presentation included: how to use an air fryer, food safety, and air fryer pros and cons. We also explored various recipes and sampled delicious air fried foods.

A big thank you to the presenters, all the attendees, and the Community Center.
