Summer Reading Kickoff!

Elmwood Public Library will be holding their Summer Reading Program on Wednesdays in June.  To celebrate the event, we’ll be hosting a community party in the park!

Sunday, June 2, we welcome all of our friends from Elmwood, Murdock and the surrounding communities to join us at the Bess Streeter Aldrich Park from 4pm-6pm.  There will be food trucks (The Tastee Trailer as well as Kona Ice) with meals and snacks available for purchase.  There will also be kids’ activities, face painting, and live music from The String Beans at 5pm!

From pop and country to rap and rock n’ roll, these goofy guys of The String Beans perform a wide variety of original, family-friendly songs about all the things kids love: animals, cartoons, food, science, sports and more! Each show is hilarious, inclusive and spontaneous, and each catchy tune is designed to get every audience dancing and singing along!

We suggest that you bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket.  Come for the food!  Stay for the music!  Help us celebrate our community and what our public library has to offer!

SUMMER READING PROGRAM REGISTRATION

Summer Reading Program is a fun and free experience for children ages 4-12.  If  your child is currently enrolled in their second year of PreK through 5th grade, this is for them!

Current Preschool through first graders will meet on Wednesday, June 5, 12, 19 & 26 at 1pm.  2nd graders through 5th grade meet at 2:30pm on the same dates.  Our theme this year is, “A Universe of Stories,” so we’ll be talking about space, aliens, astronauts and more.

Please register your child ahead of time so that we can make sure to have enough supplies and snacks for everyone.  Registration sheets may be picked up at the library.  If you have questions, feel free to call a librarian at 402.994.4125 or email elmwoodlibrary@outlook.com.
