Summer Reading 2017!!

 

 

We here at Franklin Public Library are getting very excited for our Summer reading program. Our motto this year is “Build A Better World”. We are here to make this world a better place for future generations, while having so much fun doing it! Here are the dates and projected crafts that day. Please bring in your reading logs weekly with your books read marked on it so we can continue to enter you into our drawings!

Wednesday, June 14th at 4:00 p.m. – Keith West and Miss Kitty the Library Lady (our kickoff!!) All ages are welcome and we plan to have the program outdoors.

Thursday, June 22nd at 10:30 a.m. – t-shirt bags (Please bring an old shirt that you don’t mind getting cut up) Elementary ages

Thursday, June 29th at 10:30 a.m. – catapults for Elementary ages

Thursday, July 6th at 10:30 a.m. –  box races for Elementary ages

Tuesday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m. – Luncheon and raffle winners will be drawn at this time. All ages welcome!

Nebraska 150 Books

March 1, 2017 marks Nebraska’s 150th anniversary of statehood!

In celebration of the Nebraska Sesquicentennial the Nebraska Literary Heritage Association and the Nebraska Library Commission, have compiled the ‘Nebraska 150 Book List’ to highlight a spectrum of Nebraska books and encourage reading in preparation for celebration activities.

To participate in the reading challenge, pick up a list at the library or visit nebraska150books.org . Completed forms must be submitted by February 28, 2017 to be eligible for the prize drawing on March 1, 2017.

Pioneer Consortium – Coming Soon!

Franklin Public Library is in the process of migrating to the Pioneer Consortium.

This new automation system will allow patrons online access to search the catalog, place holds, check due dates, and renew items!
