The Shining Stars Summer Reading Program for the youngest age group was held at the library on Friday morning, June 7th. The children listened to the classic book “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” with bright, colorful illustrations by Wendy Straw. Everyone helped sing the traditional song and helped with a flannel board story featuring stars. For an activity, the children experimented with wax resist. They made stars on white paper with white crayons. They then used blue and black paint for a night sky, and the white stars shone brightly through, as the paint did not stick to the crayon wax.
