Summer Reading Program is just around the corner! Open the link to see our summer schedule!
Fire fighters and EMT’s from the Hildreth Fire Department presented a program on fire safety to area youth. Children were able to look at the fire and ambulance equipment as well as hold a fire hose and knock over a safety cone with the water. Our last summer reading program ended with a “splash” as kids (and some adults) were soaked from the fire hoses. Thank you HVFD! We appreciate your service to our community!
Today we had a visit from Bill Bunger, a community military hero. He shared interesting information with us about flying a helicopter while in Vietnam. We enjoyed seeing the model of his helicopter, helmet, prisoner story on the helicopter, how water tanks were moved, how large the helicopter was and how many people fit in the helicopter. Our favorite, though, was the story of the jeep! Thanks for visiting our library!
We have been busy this summer at the Library. In May and June we had three youth book clubs and a Pre-K through 2nd grade story time. At the end of June we had a picnic in the park and was entertained by Fax Gilbert who performed magic, mime and masks. Superhero training day was next and then Trooper Lewis brought his dog to our library for animal heroes. We still have two programs to go….military heroes and community heroes. Please join us for lots of fun.
