Preschool Story Programs

The Holdrege Area Public Library hosts three preschool story programs in the Children’s library each week. There are two morning programs and one evening program.

Monday Moppets (formerly known as Tuesday Tales): Monday Moppets has a new day and time this fall. The program will now be at 5:30 p.m. on Monday evenings. The program is designed for two through five year olds and includes stories, finger plays, music, early learning activities and other special activities. Children are encouraged to bring an item from home whose name begins with the letter of the week for our show and share time. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to stay with their children and join in on all of the activities.

Jingles and Rhymes: Jingles and Rhymes is at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday mornings. The program is designed for two and three year olds and includes stories, finger plays, music and other special activities. There is also a short block of time when children & parents/caregivers are encouraged to play with a special collection of age-appropriate toys. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to stay with their children and join in on all of the activities.

Alphabet Soup: Alphabet Soup meets at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. The program is designed for four and five year olds and includes stories, finger plays, music, early learning activities and other special activities.  Children are encouraged to bring an item from home whose name begins with the letter of the week for our show and share time. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to stay with their children and join in on all of the activities.

Preschool story programs meet from September through November, January through April and June and July during our annual Summer Reading Program.
