Library Closure to Patrons

By order of the Library Board of Trustees, the Holdrege Area Public Library will be closed beginning March 18 to April 4 (inclusive). Materials dropped off for return will be checked in each day, so patrons do not have to worry about inaccurate overdue fines.

If a patron desires materials, they may call the Library (308-995-6556) with their list of items. Patrons will be restricted to 6 DVDs per household and 10 books per pickup. When they pull up to the library, they may call the library and we will bring those items out to their vehicle, or they may come up to the library doors to pick up their items. This service will be available from noon to 6 pm Monday through Thursday, and noon to 5 pm on Friday. No Saturday remote checkout will be available.

During this time, library staff will be available to answer questions over the phone from noon to 6 pm. Other services, such as computer use, fax, and Story Times, will not be available until April 6. Please remember that our OverDrive service has a large number of eBooks and Audiobooks that can be accessed from your homes as well.

Remember to use safe health behaviors during this time:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your mouth, nose, or eyes before washing your hands.
  • As much as possible, avoid contact with people who are sick. Keeping your distance (6 ft) from others will decrease chances of disease transmission.
  • Remain calm. Calm decisions make for better choices, which leads to better outcomes for you and everyone around you.

Thank you for your understanding,

Michael Burris,
Library Director

  1. Can we check out any of the books or can we not check out certain ones?
