Community needs drive our services and we take\u00a0pride in ensuring that they are delivered in a welcoming, convenient and responsive manner.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Goals<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">(revised 10\/10\/06)<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">To support this mission, the library will organize\u00a0and prudently manage its resources to:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<ul>\n<li>Encourage reading<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the library&#8217;s resources are available<\/li>\n<li>to all<\/li>\n<li>Promote awareness and use of the library<\/li>\n<li>Promote full literacy for all ages. The effective<\/li>\n<li>definition of literacy is no longer limited to the<\/li>\n<li>ability to\u00a0read, but includes the continuous process of being<\/li>\n<li>able to comprehend and apply new and more<\/li>\n<li>complex information throughout life.<\/li>\n<li>Assist individuals in finding jobs and educational<\/li>\n<li>opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Assist businesses with their development and growth<\/li>\n<li>Provide current information<\/li>\n<li>Provide recreational reading resources, media mate<\/li>\n<li>rials, &amp; programs<\/li>\n<li>Provide public use of modern information technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Publicity and Public Relations<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">The Library Director shall have the responsibility\u00a0to inform the public of the services the Library performs\u00a0and its activities and shall approve all publicity\u00a0concerning the Library.
