Library Lore By Cherie Anderson HPL Director/Librarian

Spring is upon us and we have been busy at Hooper Public Library weeding our collection and making room for new and donated books and DVD’s.  We have received many wonderful donations of used books and DVD’s from local residents and always welcome more!  When donations are duplicates of what we currently have on the shelf we will keep the copy that is in better condition here and put the duplicates on our USED BOOK SALE.  We are gearing up for our annual sale now and will have all paperback books priced at 4 for $1.00 and all hardcover books will be 2 for $1.00.  You will want to come and peruse the wonderful variety of adult chapter books we have for sale. Proceeds from this sale will help fund our Summer Reading program.

On the last Friday of March we welcomed Redeemer Daycare to our story time and read some fun books about spring time.  Coffee Corner was well attended on the first Friday of April and both our adult and junior book clubs meet this month.  On Friday of last week Color Me Happy Preschool (MWF morning class) came to the library on their annual field trip.  They were given a tour of the library, had story time where they heard 2 fun stories about the using the library and they were able to try out the book drop and play in the puppet theater.  Students were reminded that it doesn’t cost anything to belong to the library and borrow books, magazines and movies or use our computers or our free Wi-Fi.  If your family does not have a Hooper Public Library card stop in today and sign up!
