Summer is going by quickly and we have been busy at the library with patrons checking out books, movies and magazines or using our computers or free Wi-fi. Children just love out puppet theater and it’s so fun to watch and listen to their little puppet shows that they improvise. Children can also color and do activity pages or puzzles in our children’s corner or just relax and read. We are offering children & teens who are reading on their own the opportunity to win fun prizes for their efforts in reading this summer. This will be going on through August 10th so bring the kids in for details on BOOK CAMP.
Other happenings at the library include our Coffee Corner which continues to draw a good crowd every Friday morning. Stop in and join us for coffee, treats and good conversation. Browse our books, magazines or movies while you are here or if you use a device to read ask about Nebraska Overdrive.
Story time will be held Tuesday August 2nd at 10:30a.m. FUN for children of all ages!
Hooper Public Library’s board of trustees has 3 new members. We welcome Michael Mattes who will serve as our Board President, Kelly Abrahams who will fill the Secretary position and Anne Skidmore will serve as a trustee. The other 2 members of our board are Sally Oberg who has served on our board for 6 years and Jamie Volpp who has served 2 years. Members leaving our board are Amy Moeller who graciously served 8 years as our President and Amanda Dennis who served 6 years on our Board of Trustees. We are very grateful to all of our trustees past and present for their service to Hooper Public Library.
