There are a wealth of Resources available to Parents/Kids during this time. I know I won’t be able to share them all – but will try to add some.
Don’t forget this time doesn’t have to be all about learning – and learning can happen in other areas besides filling out worksheets & looking at screens. (Don’t discount teaching your kids how to make cookies or teaching them a hobby that you already enjoy).
The weather is suppose to get nice the next few days — get the kids outside and play a game!

Our library now has an Integrated Library System
What does that mean?
An Integrated Library System simply means a library management system; in this case our Library System is now on-line.
What does that mean for you?
*A lot less time waiting for me to check your books out
*You can browse our inventory of books, puzzles, movies, & Cake pans anytime
*We can let you know (via e-mail) when your books are due back
To browse through our library, simply go to indianolane.libib.com
Mark from Mark’s Pharmacy in Cambridge will be back at the Library again this year to help you review your Medicare Prescription Drug plan (Part D).
Mark will be at The Indianola Public Library Tuesdays in November (Nov. 5, 12, 19, & 26th) from 5:30-7pm
Be Sure to Bring a List of your Medications, Your Red white and blue Medicare Card, & any questions you may have.
Join us on Tuesdays @ 4pm for Cards and Conversation
We have had some cake pan donations. The easiest way to see what we have is to use our LIBIB account to look. I don’t have pics for all of them yet and there are still some I need to get added….but this gives you some idea of what we have. I have tried to include the Wilton Pan Number (if available) which will allow you to google the number and find out how many cake mixes you need – it will also give you some ideas of how to decorate, etc.
If you decide to check out a cake pan, you’ll need a library card (if you don’t already have one) and you’ll need to sign a waiver. Checkout will be for 2 weeks.
The Last week of Summer Reading (July 26) is also Fair Week so I know some families will not be able to make it to Summer Reading. If you have attended Summer Reading (any week or all the weeks) you are invited to watch Lilo & Stitch with us. The movie will start @ 3:00 and runs about an hour and half. Bring a favorite stuffed animal to cuddle with. We’ll have popcorn & a drink.
We’re celebrating The 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing!
The Indianola Public Library and The Indianola Historical Society are celebrating the Moon Landing.
When : July 20th
10am – Noon
Where: The Indianola Public Library
122 4th (Main) St.; Indianola
Everyone is welcome! Bring your memories and memorabilia from the Moon Landing. We will provide cake and drinks as well as show footage of the 1969 Moon Landing.

Each week we will Read a few books, do a craft or activity & there will be time to check out books.
Our theme this year is Space and each week we will discover some aspect of space and space exploration. Some weeks we may get a LITTLE messy with our craft – so you may not want to wear your best clothes for summer reading.
Week One we are going to learn about Astronauts! So get ready to come explore Space with us!
