Summer Genealogy Intern
Jensen Memorial Library in Minden is seeking an intern for summer 2019. The bulk of responsibilities will include identifying, organizing, and cataloging items in the library’s genealogy and history collection along with interviewing community members to collect information relating to the collection. Intern may also be asked to assist with children’s events and classes as part of the Summer Reading program.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in history and genealogy with educational track in education, journalism, graphic design, library services, or other related fields. Candidate must have the ability to work with spreadsheets and data entry. Strong writing skills and ability to communicate with seniors is highly desired.
Potential candidates must have completed at least their Freshman year in high school with plans to be enrolled in high school or college level courses during the Fall 2019 term.
A $1,000 stipend is available for work done between May 20 and August 15. Work schedule will be determined at time of hire.
