The “Sentimental Reflections, America’s Heritage in Story, Scenery & Song” DVDs are like a quarterly video travel magazine and contain a mix of music and memories from all across the U.S.  There are five features on each DVD.  The Cover Story features a unique area of interest such as steamboats or Model T Turns 100.  Off The Beaten Path features places such as Bisbee, Arizona and Prattville, Alabama and Blennerhasset Island, WV.  A Time Capsule delves into the past with old news reels and looks at some cultural and historical events such as “All The Marbles”, “Origins of the Banana Split” and  the “Johnny Appleseed Festival”.  On A Musical Note highlights different types of musical entertainment like the Barbershop Quartets, a fiddle festival and bagpipes.  Scenic America visits places like Lake Tahoe, California’s Torrey Pines, and Hells Canyon.   Another set of DVDs is called Sentimental Sing-Along.  Some of the titles are Patriotic Songs, Cowboy and Campfire Songs, Sweet & Simple Love Songs and Whimsical Songs & Melodies.  So if you are tired of all the TV shows and want something fun and relaxing that brings back memories, please remember our collection from Sentimental.

The Library Board’s Bake Sale and Raffle were successful.   Jen Dillinger won the painting by Rachelle Eversole;  Jessie Alligood won the knife by Tom Hewitt;  Deb Pinkley won the Southwest ceramic set by Cheryl Heidemann and Joyce Witt won the pillow and seasonal wraps by Mary Ann Chapin.  Congratulation to them and again thanks to all who donated items and purchased bake sale items and raffle tickets.
