We have had a great year at the library.  New services have been installed for the public and this keeps the library as a viable part of the community.  Can you imagine what the community would feel like if it did not have a library?

The new fax line was installed and gets used frequently each week.  Additional new computers have been added to accommodate more citizens and many times they are full all day long.  The ADA computer is back up and running providing assistance to physically disabled citizens with larger print for reading, reading printed materials to the citizen and taking dictation through Dragon Naturally Speaking (recently has been advertised on TV).  New sturdier computer desks and chairs are in place giving a cleaner and more professional feel to the areas.  A new coat of paint has been added to the walls updating the look and presenting a cozier atmosphere.

Along with all these, we still offer the same services that patrons need and want.  InterLibrary Loan of books and audios is a much used service.  We have a copier, a PowerPoint projector, a community room, and access to world of information through the Internet and the Nebraska Library Commission and its partners:  Nebraska Department of Labor, RUPRI Center for Rural Entrepreneurship, Nebraska State Court System, Nebraska Community Foundation, Center for Rural Affairs, National Network of Libraries of Medicine and the McGoogan Library of Medicine, Univ. of Nebraska Extension, and Central Community College access to computer classes.  The access to computer classes has now expanded to include WNCC, so we will be offering some classes to the public with very minor fees for paperwork.

The library staff and board are working on more offerings and upgrades to the library.  This is YOUR community and library, so please let us know community and educational needs and encourage others to let us know too.
