For items not owned by North Bend Public Library

Any individual who has a North Bend Public Library card in good standing may use this service.  Patron accounts must be in accordance with current circulation rules.  Currently a patron must not have any fines or fees and must have less than 10 items checked out.

Rules:
Items are loaned by libraries in the United States.  Circulation rules, including loan periods and use of materials, are set by the lending library.  Patrons will be held responsible for any charges incurred for damaged or lost items set by the lending library.

Patrons agree to pay postage to receive the materials.  The lending library may request additional charges for service fees, insurance, etc.  The patron will be informed of these possible costs before any item is sent.

Patrons will be limited to four (4) active requests at any given time;

Only one copy of a specific title may be requested / borrowed at a time;

Ill material(s) will be returned to the lending library if not checked out within seven (7) days of notification;

Circulation restrictions imposed by the lending library apply to ILL materials;

Renewal must be requested by the borrower at least three (3) business days prior to the due date to provide the lending library sufficient time to either approve or deny request;

Borrowed material is subject to recall by the lending library and immediate return is expected;

The borrower must pay any and all service charges assessed by the lending library, i.e. copy FAX or postage fees, overdue fines, replacement cost for lost or damaged items, etc.;

Patrons who do not comply with these regulations will lose any further interlibrary loan privileges;

Procedures:
To initiate the inter-library loan process, either call or come into the library and a librarian will collect information from the patron so library can request the item

Patrons must have their valid  library card to check out these materials.  Most libraries will not loan materials published or produced within the last 12 months for the ILL program;

An Inter-library Loan transaction signifies borrower agreement to abide by the established rules and regulations that govern Inter-library Loan service.  Disregard for these provisions could result in suspension of service.  The North Bend Public Library reserves the right to revise this ILL policy as needed to maintain service.
