My first month as a Library Intern…

Greetings from the Palisade Public Library, I have been working as a Library Intern for almost a month now and I cant believe how fast the time has gone by. In this last month I have learned so much from how to check in and out books to fun things to do with kids. Most of my time as a library intern has been spent with the amazing kids from the library reading program but I still have time to do things like learn how to enter new books into our library system.

One of my favorite things about this job is getting to spend so much time with kids. It is so much fun to see them get to learn new things, make new friends, and be creative with the crafts we do. This year for Pioneer Days the summer reading program entered into the parade and the kids got to walk and blow bubbles while singing Baby Shark. My favorite thing we did with the kids is take them to the park to measure out the size of a real whale, with this they were able to get an idea of just how big the ocean and the creatures in the ocean really are. I am so thankful to the Nebraska Library Commission for this opportunity to do all of these amazing things.
