NEW BOOKS

Written By: Donna Christiansen - Oct• 23•13

Usborne Books and More, with the help of Educational Consultant Nancy Ickler, provided a 50% matching grant entitled Literacy For a Lifetime to the Plainview Carnegie Library.  This is a grant that is used for books matching donations given by people in the community by 50%.  The library received a total of $750 worth of new books.  This is a grant that can be used at any time with donations or grants given to a library designated specifically for new books.  A big THANK YOU to all who donated to this cause.

Here are a few of the new Young Adult books that we received through the grant: The Conspiracy 365 series, plus Black Ops: Missing; Animal Investigators: Wolf Man, Red Eye, Killer Spiders, and Ghost Dogs; The Phoenix Files: Doomsday, Arrival, Contact, Fallout, Mutation, and Underground; plus the USBORNE Encyclopedias of World History, Science and Geography just to name a few.

Come in and check out the new Adult and Children books in at the Library.  Some of the titles are: Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks; Robert B Parker’s Damned If You Do;  Thankless in Death by J.D. Robb; W is for Wasted by Sue Grafton; Mayan Secrets by Clive Cussler; Never Go Back by Lee Child; Prayer Box by Lisa Wingate; and many more.
