Library Closing and Holiday Policies

Holiday

            The Plainview Carnegie Library will be closed on the following holidays:  New Years’ Day, July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Veteran’s Day, and Christmas Day.  The Library may close early on Christmas Eve but will not be a paid holiday.  The Library Director may be paid for a normal workday.  In a case of the holiday falling on a Sunday then the Library will be closed on the following Monday. 

Weather Conditions
            When the Plainview Carnegie Library will be closed for winter weather conditions it will be announced on KEXL Radio Station and a note will be placed on the front door.  When the school closes due to winter weather conditions, it is then up to the discretion of the Librarian to close the Plainview Carnegie Library early.
