Friday, January 21st from 2:00pm-4:00pm in the Brokenicky Meeting Room the Library will host our first Wii Party of 2011.  We have two new games for the event, Wii Sports Resort and Just Dance 2. 

Wii Sports Resort uses the new Motion Plus technology for more accurate motion recognition.  Featuring updated Golf, Bowling, and Tennis and introducing Archery, Swordplay, Frisbee and Frisbee Golf, Table Tennis, Basketball and more, Wii Sports Resort is fun for all ages.

Just Dance 2 features professional choreography to over 40 tracks, including songs by Rhianna, Avril Lavigne, the Bangles, Outkast, Elvis Prestly, Vampire Weekend and more .  Styles include Hip Hop, Rock, Pop, World Beat, and R&B.  Challenge your friends to a dance battle or try to max out your score in Duet Mode.  Just Dance 2 is rated E10+  making it appropriate for ages 10 and up. 

Bring your friends, snacks, and energy and be prepared to Wii Party!

Family Movie Night January 12th, 2011

We will be showing a family movie on Thursday, January 20th at 5:30pm in the Children’s Room.  Free Treat Bags will be provided to the first 30 attendees and an inflatable Minion will be raffled off after the movie.  Must be present to win.

Computer Classes Scheduled at Schuyler Public Library

Classes open to Colfax County residents and those who hold a Schuyler Public Library Card. Minimum class size is 4. Maximum class size is 10.  Registration is required. The Library reserves the right to cancel the class for insufficient registration.

 

January
19th and 26th, 8:30 – 9:45am – Introductory Computer class

Attendees need to know how to use a computer mouse.  Class content will include an overview of parts of the computer and terminology including: desktop, scrolling, clicking, keying (typing), and buying a computer.

February

1st and 8th, 8:30 – 9:45am – Introductory e-mail class

 Attendees need to know how to use a computer mouse. Attendees will learn how to set up an e-mail account from a public computer and will learn how to compose, send, receive and reply to a basic e-mail.
