Register for Summer Reading Session #2 June 28th, 2011

Registration is now open for the second summer reading session. We will begin on July 11th and run through August 5th. If you registered for session #1, you will still need to sign up for Session #2. The days and times have changed, so double check when your session is.

Monday @ 2-3pm Independent Readers #1 (ages 7-11)
Tuesday @ 2-3pm Independent Readers #2 (ages 7-11)
Wednesday @ 2-3pm Read to Me Program (ages 3-6)
Thursday @ 2-3pm “You Are Here!” (grades 6-12)

Upcoming Computer Classes

June 28   7-8:30pm Introductory Email Class
Attendees need to know how to use a computer mouse.  Attendees will set up a gmail account and will learn how to retrieve and send messages. 
July 6, 13, 20, 27     8:30 – 10:00am – Introductory Computer Class or
July 6, 13, 20, 27     6:30-8:00pm – Introductory Computer Class
Attendees need to know how to use a computer mouse.  Class content will include an overview of parts of the computer and terminology including: desktop, scrolling, clicking, and keying (typing).  Questions to ask when buying a computer will also be covered.
July 26   6:00 – 8:00pm – Introductory Facebook Class
Attendees must know how to use a computer mouse and must already have an e-mail account.  Class content will include how to create & build a Facebook profile and how to use the “Wall” on your Facebook Page

July 17th @ 2:00pm – Rainbow Rowell author of Attachments. Omaha World Herald columnist and new author reviewed in USA Today.

August 21st @ 2:00pm – Shawn Farritor, self-published Nebraska author of End of Pawnee Starlight.

September 18th @ 2:00pm – Jeff Barnes author of To Live and Die on the Plains. An interesting look at how you could have “bought the farm” on the Platte River Road. Also sponsored by the Nebraska Humanities Council.
