Internship Available August 30th, 2011
Schuyler Public Library Internship Available
The Nebraska Library Association and the Nebraska Library Commission recently awarded “Cultivating Nebraska Librarians 2.0: Building 21st Century Skills” internship grants to eighteen Nebraska public libraries. As a grant recipient, Schuyler Public Library is recruiting a student who has the initiative and desire to make a difference in the community
Application Procedures: Candidates need to complete application form available at http://libraries.ne.gov/schuyler/internship-application/ and submit with a cover letter explaining interest in the library profession to schuylerpublib@yahoo.com or to 1123 A Street, Schuyler, NE 68661. Forms are also available at the Schuyler Public Library circulation desk.
Application Deadlines: Applications will be accepted through May 30, 2011.
Funding for the project is provided through the generosity of a Nebraska charitable foundation that wishes to remain anonymous and through a Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

through our library, and works just like Mango online. Simply touch the screen
to reveal answers and to hear pronunciations by native speakers. You’ll learn
vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and culture in each lesson through Mango
methodology, called Intuitive Language Construction™.
For the app to work, you must have an account with Mango set up through
our library’s website, and an iPhone®, iPod® touch or iPad®. Once the app and
lessons have been downloaded, you can learn at your own pace, with or without
an internet connection.
Squishy Circuits August 2nd, 2011
Our teen group recently experimented with Squishy Circuits, an activity that combines homemade play dough, battery packs, and LEDs to inspire hands on learning about electronic circuits, voltage, and conductivity. Check out all the photos from the event on our Facebook page.
