History of Trick Roping and the Wild West Show By Joan Wells July 17th, 2012
Tuesday, July 31st
Schuyler Public Library
Wells uses the vanishing folk art of trick roping to bring the color and history of the Old West alive. South of the border in Old Mexico, the charros created rope spinning -making intricate flower designs with ropes. Wells follows the evolution of trick roping through the heyday of Will Rogers and his affiliation with the Texas Jacks Wild West Show and the Ziegfeld Follies in the first decades of the 20th century.

Teddy Bear Sleepover July 12th, 2012
All Ages Welcome!
Don’t forget, tonight at 6:30pm is our Teddy Bear Sleepover. Kids can come in their pajamas and bring a favorite toy or stuffed animal. We will read bedtime stories, make a quilt for our toy and tuck them in. The toys will be spending the night at the library and can be picked up Friday morning along with a souvenir of their night at the library. All ages are welcome. Bring the whole family!
For a limited time, Schuyler Public Library patrons have access to TumbleBookCloud, an online collection of read-along and e-book titles for older elementary, middle and high school students. The collection includes classic literature, Shakespeare, YA/teen novels, and a growing number of exciting graphic novels.
