Schuyler Public Library 2017 Internship Available

The Nebraska Library Commission recently awarded Nebraska Library Internship Grants totaling $25,000 to Nebraska public libraries.

As a grant recipient, Schuyler Public Library is recruiting an individual who has the initiative and desire to make a difference in the community. The Application form follows this announcement.

Internship Position Available: One, 50 hour internship to be completed during the summer/fall of 2017. Intern will work approximately 10 hours per week during a 5 week period, at the Schuyler Public Library. Intern will be compensated $500 for 50 hours of work.  For a motivated applicant, we will adapt the schedule to help meet the individual’s need.

Eligibility: Internship candidates may be a graduate student, an undergraduate student or be an energetic high school student in their Junior or Senior year of studies. They must never have been employed by a library nor as an intern at a library (previously or currently).

Application Procedures: Candidates need to complete the following application form with 2 references, and submit a cover letter.  Preference will be given to applicants showing interest in the library profession. Forms are also available at the Schuyler Public Library circulation desk.

Application Deadlines: Review of applications will begin immediately.  Applications will be accepted until internship position is filled.

The 2017 Nebraska Library Internship grant Program is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology act as administered by the Nebraska Library Commission in partnership with the Nebraska Library Regional Library Systems.
