Hey kids! This Thursday is Movie Night at Schuyler Public Library. Beginning at 5 p.m. you can enjoy a movie featuring one of your favorite cartoon queens in five different episodes. Stay for one or stay for them all! As always your drinks and snacks are welcome! See you Aug. 21 at 5!
As we head into a new school year, here is a reminder that Schuyler Public Library has regularly scheduled activities throughout the month for our young patrons.
-Every Thursday at 3:30 we host Craft Day and offer a variety of activities for different ages.
-Every Friday after school, we host Game Day and make Wii and Xbox360 games available to kids of all ages.
-The first Saturday of each month means it’s StoryTime at 11 a.m.
-Join us on the third Thursday of the month for Movie Night. As always, you are encouraged to bring your own food and drink.

On Wednesday, July 9, at 2 p.m., Schuyler Public Library will host a special appearance by Mrs. Science (Lucinda Faunce).
The Program is Free and Open to the Public.

Our Summer Reading Program, Fizz Boom Read, begins Monday, June 2.
The schedule is as follows:
-Mondays, 10:30 a.m. or 1 p.m., Read to Me group, preschool through first grade.
-Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., Independent group, second through fifth grades.
-On Tuesday and/or Thursday we will offer a Teen program for students in grades 6 through 12. Interested students should contact Mike at the library so the schedule can be arranged.
Registration for Fizz Boom Read begins Monday, May 19.
Fizz Boom Read is the title of the Summer Reading Program for 2014. Plans are being developed for lots of fun experiments, games and books that will interest and entertain children of all ages. Details will be coming soon, so plan to attend the Summer Reading Program at Schuyler Public Library.
This beautiful 84- by 94-inch quilt will be given away during a drawing at 7 p.m. on March 4 during the St. John’s Lutheran Church Pancake Supper. Displaying the quilt are MeMe Smith, library director; Sharon Schurman and Lemay Anderson. Sharon Schurman made the quilt, and Jan Bahr did the quilting. Sponsors of the drawing are St. John’s Lutheran Women of the ELCA. Proceeds will benefit the Schuyler Public Library Foundation Building Fund. Tickets are $5 each, and may be purchased at Schuyler Public Library; Lemay Anderson, 402-666-5333; Pauline Huber, 402-352-4254; and Sharon Schurman, 402-352-3342.
With the New Year’s arrival, there will be a new schedule for events at the Children’s Library. Effective Jan. 1, there will be Craft Day every Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Game Day will be held every Friday from 3 to 4:15 p.m. On the first Saturday of every month, there will be a Story Hour for the youngsters at 11 a.m. On the third Thursday of every month, there will be Movie Night at 6 p.m. As always, those attending the movie are welcome to bring their own treats. Hope the new schedule will help parents and children alike plan ahead for regular attendance.
