STEAM creation

Be sure to stop in and build something creative with the library’s new STEAM supplies.  Just use your imagination, display your creation, and leave the materials for the next person.  Cody Garland was busy this week building the Eiffel Tower with the Architectural Engineering kit.

STEAM Cart

Stop in and see the new STEAM cart and supplies in the Children’s Library, courtesy of Schuyler Community School’s Sixpence program. The kits provide activities for children ages 4 and older, with each kit being labeled for the appropriate age group. It is a wonderful addition to the library, and the staff is very appreciative of this generous donation

Local History Book

Schuyler Public Library recently received a book from Larry F. Carter of Omaha. He is the great-great grandson of early Schuyler resident George Sprecher. The book, “…in love and fidelity, George Sprecher”, contains Civil War letters Sprecher wrote to his wife, Sarah Ann, while he served in the Union Army. In 1872, Sprecher and his wife moved to Schuyler, where they lived out the rest of their lives. It is a very interesting book, and I hope history buffs will pick it up. We are grateful to Carter for this wonderful addition to our library!
