Spring….?

1-May 2015 Story Time

Danielle and Ava delve in the dirt!

Even though the weather is VERY cool today, we had a cool story and project to go with it!  Today we read How a Seed Grows by Helene Jordan, and using the guidelines from the book, planted our very own Kentucky Wonder pole beans!  The girls are under strict guidelines to keep an eye on their plants and let me know how many beans the one bean produces.  It will be an interesting science experiment!  Marlene provided (as usual) a great snack and I do believe we all had a good time!  Can you believe May is almost over?  Next weekend is Memorial Day (hope to see you all at the cemetery) and then…JUNE….SUMMER!  The kids are out of school, hopefully the sun will come out and warm us up, and hopefully last night’s frost didn’t damage too many gardens.  Need something to keep the kids engaged this summer?  Don’t forget the Summer Reading Programs at your local libraries.  Ours is every Tuesday in July from 1:15 – 2:45; prior to the library opening for ‘normal’ hours.  We have three very special guest speakers this year, and back by popular demand is Rainbow Trout the clown for our end of program party!  You can register your children as early as 10 June at the library during our normal opening hours.  Keep the young minds active (and keep the old ones active too!), there is always something going on at your Snyder Library!  Hope to see you here, soon.
