Millers, Millers Everywhere

Every miller that is flying around this light represents 1 hour of reading from the summer reading participates. It is 365 + hours at the end of the 5 weeks of reading.

Summer Reading Sky Watching

The library hosted a stargazing program at the Superior Airport as part of the summer reading program. Dan Glomski and his wife Tracy along with Bob Flagel from the Platte Valley Astronomical Observers brought their telescopes to show us the night sky.  After a short program the skys cleared up just long enough for us to view the sky.  They also told us that the Sachtleben Observatory in Hastings is open to the public 2 Saturdays a month, and you can check it out  the schedule at Http://www.hastings.edu.

There is an interesting site if you are interested in the night sky that will show you the sky in real time.  If you are interested check out the website at Http://www.stellarium.org.

Summer Reading

Well have had a good time this year in our summer reading  program.   We made pillows one week and had the Exotic animals come visit.  That was the highlight of the whole summer reading program. Magical Paradise Exotic Farm from Central City reallly kept the child glued to their seats.  They brought most of the animals around so that you could pet them if you wanted.  There are a lot of kids who suddenly want an exotic pet.
