This week’s Tuesday AfterSchool activity will be a print it – color it – play it board game activity presented by Waverly librarian Garren Hochstetler. (Garren will be joining our library staff in a few weeks!) The afternoon includes a snack, homework time, planned activities, and unstructured time for reading and play. We begin right after school, with formal programming finished before 6:00. Tuesday AfterSchool is offered in partnership with Twin Rivers YMCA. All elementary school children are welcome to attend (children under 8 with supervision).
Friends of the Library held their general meeting and election of officers on October 27. Officers for the coming 2-year term are (from left) Gerri Nordell, secretary; Arlene Cochran, president; Betty Willmer, treasurer; and Linda George, vice-president. Outgoing vice-president Sandy Grampsas and outgoing secretary Gail White were commended for their years of service.
Every Tuesday after school we have different activities scheduled. This week, John Niemoth told us of his recent travels to Africa. He also worked with the upper elementary grades on making Sonobe structures (origami-like geometric shapes).
All local elementary school students are welcome to attend Tuesday AfterSchool programs!
This program is offered in partnership with Twin Rivers YMCA.
We are changing our Family Story Time schedule for the month of October. Our next story time will be a special (not too scary) Halloween edition! Wendy Anderson will return with seasonal stories and activities for younger children (PreK-2nd Grade) and their caregivers. Join us on Saturday, October 29, at 10:30 a.m. Children are welcome to come in costume!
