Friends of the Library

The mission of the Friends of the Valley Public Library is to be able to provide the library with “extras” beyond the budget and to assist the librarians with various activities and programs. Quarterly general meetings are normally held on the second Tuesday in January, April, July and October at 6:30 p.m. Their primary fundraiser is the annual Book & Bake Sale held at the library on the first Saturday in December.

Current officers of the organization include Phyllis Preble, President; Linda George, Vice President; Gerri Nordell, Secretary; Betty Willmer, Treasurer. Bernice Smith is the representative from the Library Board of Trustees.

Membership dues are $5 per year, and new Friends are always welcome!

Library Foundation

The goal of the Valley Public Library Foundation is to help donors carry out their philanthropic purposes as effectively as possible and to build a permanent endowment of private and Foundation funding to serve and enrich the Library and community. Debra Bailey is President of the organization. Other members include Susan Badour, Connie Bottger, and Darlene Koley.

Tax-deductible gifts may be mailed to the Foundation at the library, PO Box 353, Valley, NE 68064.
