2018 Summer Reading Program

June 6- July 18, 2018

 

The Valparaiso Library Summer Reading Program is for kids ages 5 – 10. Sign up preschool and grade school participants and Teen Volunteer Leaders right away. Teens June earn school credit for volunteering.

 

There are things for all to read and do EVERY DAY the library is open. Library summer reading hours are: Mondays 4 – 7 p.m., Tuesdays 4-7 p.m., Wednesdays & Thursdays 1-7 p.m., Saturdays 9- noon. You need a library account to borrow library materials. Library accounts are free.

 

The Registration form (includes reading contract) and other information is available at the library and online at http://libraries.ne.gov/valparaiso. Please return your completed forms to Valparaiso Public Library by June 23 or bring them to the first Wednesday Special Program. Participants turn in weekly reading record sheets starting the 1st week of June, either at the special Wednesday program or any other day the Library is open. Those who complete their reading contract will receive a prize at the end of the program.

 

SPECIAL PROGRAMS, WEDNESDAYS, 1 to 3 p.m. – Programs begins and ends at the Valparaiso Library. Each week focuses on a different topic. Each special program also includes time in the library, a snack, and outside activity when time and weather permit. Kid’s ages who have not yet attended Kindergarten also begin and end at the Valparaiso Library.
