Healthy Aging at Your Library: Connecting Older Adults to Health Information

We have Christian Minter coming to do a workshop for our public libraries Tuesday, September 17th at 9:00 in the morning at the Alliance Public Library. Central Plains System gave their attendees 3.0 C.E. credits, so we will attempt to do the same. She will need to start at 9:00 to be finished by noon, so we can have coffee and muffins ahead of time.

Did you know that the 65+ population will outnumber children for the first time in history by 2020? Given the rapid growth of this demographic, this class is designed to help library staff assist their older adult patrons find health information. Discover techniques for helping older adults find health information on the Internet, learn what makes a website older adult friendly; plan library programs on health topics; and explore some recommended health websites for older adults.
