Remember that library card you received when you first started checking out books at the library? As long as the information we have is current, it’s still good for checking out library books, magazines, and other items that are available at the library. Did you know that you can also use your library card to look at your library account through the library’s catalog? By taking advantage of this feature, you can see what books you have checked out, reserve a title, request a title for purchase or borrowing from another library, and change some of your account settings. Let me show you how to get started!
Our catalog can be found at https://york.biblionix.com/atoz/catalog/ or by clicking on the catalog link toward the top of our website. Make sure you have your library card handy!
Click on the link at the top right of the catalog that says “Log in to library account,” which is indicated with an orange arrow in the image above. A box will appear that allows you to enter your library card number (the whole number on the back of your card without spaces) and your password, shown in the image below. The default setting for your password is the phone number that you have on your account.
Once you have entered your information, click the “Log In” button. A box will appear similar to the image on the right, but with your library card number. Click on the “My Account” button.
Your account information and settings will appear in a window like the image below.
This window shows you your personal library account information. Notice that you can change some of your settings, such as how you are alerted for overdue and reserve notices or adding an email address and phone number. You can renew your books with a click of a button. If you want a password that is not your phone number, you can change your password in this screen. We recommend that you change your password so that your account is more secure.
Take some time to familiarize yourself with your account and the options you have by using your library card. If you have any questions, leave a comment or call us at 402-363-2620.
