Kilgore Memorial Library 30th Anniversary Open House

Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Kilgore Memorial Library with us! Enjoy an afternoon of cake and refreshments and meet Nebraska Authors from the Nebraska Writers Guild at the first annual “York Author Showcase”.

Attending authors include:

Tamsen Butler

The award-winning author of five books. Originally from Los Angeles, she now resides in Papillion.

Brigid Amos

Amos writes young adult historical fiction set in the gold mining town of Bodie, CA. Her novel “A Fence Around Her,” was just released by Clean Reads Publishing.

Bobbi Jo Lang

Throughout history parents around the world have shared bedtime stories with children. Omaha native Bobbi Jo Lang wrote the bedtime story “My Goodnight Angel” for her three boys when they were young. Now she wants to share it with the world.

Rhonda Rieck-Rush

Rhonda Rieck -Rush’s writing stems mostly from personal struggles and experiences. She finds writing to be a coping mechanism, something that gives hope and healing to herself and her readers.

Mari Beck

A former university instructor with a life-long passion for reading, she is on a mission to share stories that challenge perception but touch the heart.

Cort Fernald

Cort Fernald has written three currently available novels: “Algonquin,” “Sisters’ Secret,” and “Keeper of an Ordinary.” He resides in Omaha, NE.

Faith Colburn

Faith Colburn is a sixth-generation Nebraskan who writes about the plains and the people who inhabit them–both the natives and the transplants

Jennifer Hanish

Author and 33 year Nebraskan resident Jennifer Hanish wrote a touching book that focuses on the grieving process her family went through after the loss of her two sons and granddaughter. All three were victims of gunshot wounds to the head.

Margie Lucas

Margaret Lucas is an award-winning writer and an instructor teaching fiction, poetry and non-fiction at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Her short story, “The Yellow Bird” was made into a short and premiered at Cannes Film Festival. She is a recipient of a Nebraska Arts Council Fellowship Award for her novel, Farthest House.
