Historical Presentation!
Wednesday, September 4, 2013, Charlotte M. Endorf will be speaking at The Bunkhouse at noon. Please come and enjoy a historical presentation about the Orphan Train, sponsored by Arthur County Library.
In 2004, Charlotte M. Endorf made the decision to document the real-life stores of the children who rode the Orphan Trains between the years 1854 to 1929. A Nebraska author, she created After the Rain, Oh the Beautiful Rainbow, Plains Bound: Fragile Cargo, By the Train They Came series, Unsung Neighbors, They Call Me Teddy and Trains of Promise. Sponsored by the Madison County Museum, she condensed ten hours of videos into a professional manner producing the DVD Ordinary Orphan Train Riders Who Became Extraordinary Friends. She traveled to NYC opening records dating back to 1917 with Lela, Then compiling a poetry CD with her called Hidden Treasures.
