Nebraska historian Jeff Barnes presented \u201cThe Queen\u2019s Road: Nebraska\u2019s Bumpy Ride to Statehood\u201d at the Atkinson Public Library on Thursday, April 11. The program, which was sponsored by Humanities Nebraska and the Atkinson Friends of the Library, was presented to a group of forty children and adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Barnes\u2019s talk covered the transitional years of the Nebraska Territory, with its borders shrinking, its national significance increasing, and its sometimes shaky trek to statehood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
